The album, co-produced with Davy by renowned guitarist Anthony Drennan, is substantially new material composed by Davey. For Celtic folk-rock of the smoothest order, it's hard to beat uilleann piper Davey Spillane, whose latest excursion, 'Pipedreams' takes him yet further into the realms of jazz, although there are still remnants of tradition to be heard - 'Call across the Canyon', for instance, with his fluid piping insinuating itself around elemental cross-currents of percussion, didgeridoo and vocal whoops, suddenly reveals itself as a slowed-up reel. Release Date:1965 Genre: Jazz, Bossa Nova Quality: 128 kbps A driving force behind the rise of the MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) sound, singer/composer Edъ Lobo was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1943; at 18 he formed his first trio with Dori Caymmi and the great Marcus Valle, and in 1962 forged a long-term writing partnership with renowned lyricist Vinicius de Moraes. Drawing influence from bossa nova masters including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joгo Gilberto and Baden Powell, Lobo released his debut LP A Musica de Edъ Lobo por Edъ Lobo in 1963; that same year he also authored the music for Oduvaldo Vianna Filho's play Os Azerados Mais Os Benvidos, the first of many stage collaborations. The album Cinco Na Bossa, recorded with Nara Leгo and the Tamba Trio, followed in 1965, the same year Lobo took top honors at the First Annual Brazilian Popular Musical Festival with his composition "Arrastгo," a major hit for singer Elis Regina. The project is the brainchild of Andy Irvine (of Patrick Street) and is a labour of love resulting from his youthful tour of Eastern Europe. Bringing in Bill Whelan as arranger, Irvine assembled a group capable of any task to tackle and reveal the odd meter rhythms and melodies he encountered in his travels. This music soars even as it trips up the ear and dancer unaccustomed to it's beat. Davey Spillane (once of Moving Hearts, and a brilliant composer/performer in his own right) adds uillean pipes to the mix, Marta Sebastien (of Muzsikas) sings original language vocals on the two non-instrumental numbers. Most of the rest of the crew are Spillane's studio familiars and well able to render traditional and contemporary music with vitality and vigor. Друзья! Я понимаю ваше недовольство инфостором. Я могу перейти на другой файловый архив в UA-IX (если вам в UA-IX лучше, мне все равно). Дублировать я не могу - у меня дорогой провайдер и низкая скорость (других мест пока нет). Распространять на ДВД не могу из-за отсутствия времени на компиляцию и отправку диска, а зарабатывать на чужой музыке я не хочу. Если желание слишком велико - может как-то договоримся. Я живу в Хмельницкой области, в Киеве не бываю. Все что я выкладываю было взято или из моей коллекции (а она большая), или старался тянул eMULE, посему никаких альтернативных линков, по неведению, не могу давать. Кто ДАВНО ждет некоторые непроиндексированые треки, у них есть шанс составить список и послать его мне - выложу все в архиве куда-то. Хотя все индексируется когда заходят на страницу человек 5-6 (киньте линк друзьям). ПОДСКАЖИТЕ куда можно заливать, чтоб хранились файлы очень долго. С некоторых сайтов я стянуть не могу (н-р аплоад). Провайдер у меня киевский Датагруп.

Unfortunately, it is not what is is purported to be. This is supposed to be an album by Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66. For the most part, it is not. What it is instead is an album of solos by Lani Hall with orchestra backings. There are only 2 songs on the whole album that sound like Brasil '66. They are "Dock of the Bay" and "Pretty World", which were previously released as singles. With the possible exception of "You Stepped Out of a Dream", I cannot hear Karen Phillip on any of the other songs. If she or any of the other group members were included in these recordings, they are hopelessly buried under all the orchestrations. I am not saying that Lani Hall wasn't a good singer, but I do think she was pretty much a glory hog. I remember hearing her being interviewed on the radio sometime in the mid-70's. Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas is a fan and his teaming with Sergio Mendes on the recent Timeless will hopefully bring Brasil '66/'77/'86/'88 etc to a new generation. The Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 formula on "Fool on the Hill" was quite simple. Take pop hits like the title track by the Beatles and "Scarborough Fair" by Simon & Garfunkle, add a bossa nova rhythm and some lavish string accompaniment by Dave Grusin to Mendes on the piano and the vocals by Lani Hall, and you have some easy listening hits.
